Deborah and her husband Riyaz move between their homes in Sydney and Delhi managing their company Tradition Textiles, founded in 2003. Over the years they have established valued relationships with textile artisans in India to create their handcrafted collections. The use of natural, quality fibres – cotton and linen and environmentally sustainable dyes is essential to their textile production.
Deborah is responsible for designing the collections for her company.
Every year new fabric prints are created for the summer clothing range of dresses and tops. Production of the textiles is by silkscreening, digital printing or woodblock printing done in collaboration with specialist textile artisan communities in India, whose expertise assists Deborah in realising her designs.
This gallery displays a selection of Deborah’s fabric print designs on the completed garments. Each design is printed in two or three colour combinations.
